The new Profoto D4 is fully compatible with the existing line of Acute2 heads and the improved Pro-7 head+. Furthermore, all former Acute and, in 220-240V countries, Pro-3-5-6-7 heads can be used. This allows full interchangeability between the generators and the entire line of Profoto light shaping tools. This insures the very finest quality of light possible every time an exposure is made.

The legendary design of Profoto heads permits accessories to be “focused”. By sliding the reflector back and forth on the head, the angle of light as well as quality of light changes. In the narrowest position, light produced is hot in the center graduating off towards the ends, making dramatic lighting easy, even when using a large soft box. In the widest position, light is even from the center to the edges illuminating the area evenly. This flexibility is rarely seen in most lighting systems, but it is the basis on which all Profoto light shapers and heads are designed. The Standard Zoom Reflector is a very universal tool, it offers the functions of a wide angle, umbrella and standard reflector.

The heads feature circular, heavy-duty, Quartz, ozone-free flash tubes with UV protection domes that surround both the flash tube and standard 250 watt (500W alternatively) halogen modeling light. They provide matched and even illumination with maximum light output efficiency. As with all Profoto lamp heads, special arc proof connectors provide safety while ensuring maximum performance and ultimate reliability. All heads are supplied with a 5/8-inch adapter to mount the units to any standard light stand.

Acute2 Ringflash

Includes: Special Mounting Bracket, Lamp Cable 12 ft. (3.5m) Max = 2400Ws. Popular with fashion photographers for freely positioned, direct, and detailed light without harshness. Excellent for small interiors such as automobile photography, or table top applications. The ringflash fits all D4, Acute2 and Acute generators, and is an entirely mobile source of light. The adjustable tripod mount bracket and wide interior (100mm diameter) allows for fitting all types of cameras and lenses in many formats.

Optional accessory reflectors expand the ringflash’s capabilities further. Optional Softlight Reflector increases the light source, for fewer sharp shadows. Optional Close-up Reflector focuses the light source 20" (50cm) in front of the camera lens. With smaller objects, the effect is completely shadow-free.

Maximum charge is 9600Ws per minute, which equals four flashes per minute @ 2400Ws, 8 flashes @ 1200Ws, 16 flashes @ 600Ws, 32 flashes @ 300Ws, or 64 flashes per minute @ 150Ws.
